Maryland Governor Hogan has postponed Maryland's Primary Election from April 28, 2020 to June 2, 2020, five weeks later. The Special General Election for the 7th Congressional District has NOT been postponed, but will take place by mail.
The Special General Election is only for the 7th District to finish out the rest of the former Elijah Cumming's term. However, due to the gerrymandering of congressional districts in Maryland, the 7th District includes parts of Howard County, Baltimore County, and Baltimore city. The three candidates are listed on the Maryland BOE site. This is the first time that the state is attempting a completely mail-in ballot, which is different than absentee voting.
